Germany v England – FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 Match for third place

Two top European sides, Germany and England will battle it out in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 Third Place Play-off match.

After a fantastic tournament performance from both Germany and England, the European sides fell in their semi-finals against USA and Japan respectively.

Both semi-final matches gave us a competitive hard fought contest, controversial penalties, missed opportunities and for England a heartbreaking undeserved freak own goal.

Take a look at all the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup results so far.

(Match 51) Full-time (aet): Germany 0-1 England (Williams 108’pen)- 04 July 2015 | 14:00 local time | Edmonton

Referee – RI Hyang Ok (PRK), Assistant Referee 1: HONG Kum Nyo (PRK), Assistant Referee 2: KIM Kyoung Min (KOR), Fourth official: Gladys LENGWE (ZAM)

Both England and Germany will be heading into this match on the back of heartbreak for narrowly missing out on a place in the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 Final and both will be wanted to bounce back and earn a third place finish.

These two European teams met most recently in front of a large crowd at Wembley Stadium and it was the Germans who came out on top, winning 3-0.

Updates from all the matches will be published in the comment wall below as well as on the Women’s Soccer United official Twitter and Facebook accounts.
