This is where I could have been writing an essay about the importance of teambuilding in regards of individual and group development, and add some notes on leadership theories etc. However, I will not do that, even though that topic is very interesting, as understanding your role in a group and the group dynamics as a whole is vital to being successful.
For the purpose of this blog I will make it simple.
Some times to get to know each other have and appreciate the group you need a special event. Living close to (read: on top of each others) is one element that can be considered valuable in such a short and intense season, but to truly appreciate the concept of “FuryFamily” we need a “teambuilding event”
Teambuilding event number one: Canada Day,
Ok so originally this was not created as a teambuilding event. According to Wikipedia, Canada day is:
“The national day of Canada, a federal statutory holiday celebrating the anniversary of the July 1, 1867, enactment of the British North America Act, 1867 (today called the Constitution Act, 1867), which united three colonies into a single country called Canada within the Empire. Originally called Dominion Day (French: Le Jour de la Confédération), the holiday was renamed in 1982, the year the Canada Act was passed. Canada Day observances take place throughout Canada as well as among Canadians internationally.”
Whatever you want to call it or see it as, it is was a day where we got to have fun and laugh together. I think every single one of us realized how much we appreciate the “Fury Family” after Canada Day. It is truly enjoyable to see my teammates spend such quality time together.
Here are some photos so you can feel included as well. I recommend anyone who gets the chance to come experience the national day here in the capital, Ottawa.
(Ps. I have stolen some of the pictures from teammates so for those of you seeing them, just give credit to them all)
It is important that we all dress as the Canada Flag. Canadian or not!
Important to share some frame time with randoms on the street!
And it is important to look badass (for some of us), and cute (for others)
And it is of importance to look silly!
Conclusion of this Blog:
Have fun together- Win together.
When in Canada- Be Canadian (until 4th of July. Then be American. We need an excuse to BBQ)
Thank you everyone for a great time so far!
