Here is a little something for the football lovers out there that have been watching the Olympic games and supporting the great game.

Although the Team (South Africa) didn’t exactly reach our goal we wanted by qualifying through to the next round, we are still very proud of ourselves by showing the world what kind of football we are able to play. There’s been a lot of people, fans around the world that have enjoyed watching us play. Still receiving a lot of messages, congratulating us on putting up a good fight against teams that are highly profiled.

As many of you already know that the league in South African Womens football is not so successful, we still managed to make it to the Olympics and played our hearts out, and for me, thats all that counts.

Now that the team is back home with our families and friends and sharing our experiences, we know that in a few weeks time we will be back together again, preparing and working hard for another mission ahead….. The African Womens Championship games that will be held in Equatorial Guinea later this year. This tournament will be important for us to show the African Teams what we have learnt and gained from our Olympic experiences.

For now we all at home, having a good rest and still watching the Olympic games. Its a great feeling to know that I was a participant in the London 2012 games. I am so proud.

Thank you once again to everyone that have supported Team South Africa. You have made us all realize just how important and special we are. Will keep you all updated on the African Womens Championship games.

Lots of Soccer Love

It’s so nice, Janine, for not having forgotten us :o)

You can be very proud indeed, you and all your team-mates for what you showed and achieved in those Olympics.

As Gina said, Portia Modise’s goal came like an extra bonus and will remain as – at least – one of the most beautiful goal of the tournament, the best so far.

Enjoy your time with your family and friends and we’ll all be very happy to watch South-African Women’s Football progress in the time coming ! :o)

Thank you for your latest blog Janine.

Team South Africa put up a great fight in the London 2012 Olympics and a lot will argue that Portia Modise’s goal was the best of the tournament so far! You certainly made your mark on the women’s football world stage and I hope that more opportunities and support become available for you and your team and for the domestic league in South Africa.

Enjoy the time with your family and friends, I look forward to hearing about your journey in the African Womens Championship games.
