I found this quote on the JFA website:

They have decided to play in this upcoming tournament “in order to take a look at all the players at an early stage for winning the spot in the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup”, as Ueda Eiji, executive committee member of the Japan Football Association

I’m a bit puzzled. What is the Takakura’s purpose this time? To win the tournament? Or to test players?

If winning is her goal then it doesn’t make sense such players as Hasegawa, Momiki, Sumida (all NTV) are missing. If her intention is to test players then I wonder if Norimatsu and Anzai who are already tested in the top division have to be tested against much easier U18 opponents….

i wonder if Norimatsu will be the captain of this team. she’s the only senior team player on this squad 🙂
