Jess FishlockReign FC announce that midfielder Jess Fishlock will remain in Seattle for the 2014 NWSL season, with the club also holding options for both the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

Reign FC originally acquired Fishlock as an international discovery player on Feb. 4, 2013. The midfielder has spent the offseason playing overseas for Glasgow City LFC and the Melbourne Victory.
“Jess is a dynamic, talented player and was an integral part of our squad last year,” general manger and head coach Laura Harvey said. “She is a big part of our plans going forward, making it an easy decision to offer a new contract.”

Fishlock started in all 21 of her appearances in 2013, scoring four goals in 1878 minutes. The Welsh National Teamer was the only member of Reign FC to be named to the 2013 NWSL Best XI and was voted NWSL “Player of the Week” in the second week of the 2013 NWSL season.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be extending my contract,” Fishlock said. “For me, playing for the Reign is an honor. I’m looking forward to building on last year and being a part of something special in Seattle.”

Over the course of the offseason, Fishlock spent time on loan with both Glasgow City LFC of the Scottish Women’s Premier League and the Melbourne Victory of Australia’s Westfield W-League.
