Fortuna Dusseldorf’s Kerem Demirbay made to referee girls’ game after sexist comment towards female ref Bibiana Steinhaus.
Kerem Demirbay told female official Bibiana Steinhaus ‘women have no place in men’s football’ during a German Bundesliga second division match in which the midfielder was sent off for a second bookable offence.
Demirbay was given a five game ban (two of which are suspended) from DFB, and received was ordered by his club Fortuna Dusseldorf to officiate a girls’ youth match as an additional punishment.

Fortuna Dusseldorf’s Kerem Demirbay had to apologise to referee Bibiana Steinhaus for his comments immediately after she sent him off for a second yellow card late in his club’s 2-1 win at FSV Frankfurt last weekend.
