Kim Jungmi wins Best Player of the Women’s World Cup Round of 16 Stage

We asked you to vote for the best player of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 round of 16 and the majority of you voted to crown Kim Jungmi as your winner!

This was the second appearance at the world finals for veteran goalkeeper Kim Jungmi.

The Korea Republic goalkeeper played in all four FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 matches, a total of 360 minutes and a save rate of 42.9.

Although Kim Jungmi and Korea Republic suffered a 3-0 defeat in their round of 16 match against France, what made the goalkeeper standout out was her strength and resilience throughout the match. Kim Jungmi was on the wrong end of a team-mate’s elbow whilst attempting to clear a French attack, and then just before half-time the goalkeeper clashed heads with an opponent! On both occasions the brave keeper got back up and continued with the game!
