Australian forward Kyah Simon earns 50th international cap
Australia Westfield Matildas forward Kyah Simon earned her 50th international cap during today’s international friendly match (behind closed doors) against Vietnam.
Australia defeated Vietnam 4-0 in the behind close doors international friendly match at Valentine Sports Park in Park Lea.
The goalscorers for Australia were Steph Catley, Caitlin Foord, Kyah Simon and Michelle Heyman.
Australia and Vietnam will play each other again on Thursday 21 May at Jubilee Oval in Kogarah (kick-off 6.30pm AEST) which will be Australia’s official farewell match before the squad departs for FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 in Canada.
Australia are in Group D, the group many consider as the ‘group of death’, alongside USA, Sweden and Nigeria. They will begin their World Cup campaign against USA on 8 June in Winnipeg. View the full 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup fixtures.
