The German international and FC Bayern München midfielder underwent an MRI scan late on Wednesday evening which revealed she suffered an ankle ligament strain following the dangerous tackle.

Laudehr will be treated intensively in the coming days and the healing process will be monitored. There will then be a decision on how best to proceed.

Germany won their first match of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games women’s football tournament 6-1 against Zimbabwe and their next match will be on Saturday against Australia in Sao Paulo. See all the fixtures and results.

    Thanks @Harrythereferee

Not a good performance for Rita Gani, this player went on to do a similar tackle to another German player a little later in the game.

I don’t think you need to me to say that’s a Red Card (Serious Foul Play) . A high intensity, no control with a high hitting point with no chance to play the ball. Clear crucial mistake by Rita Gani and I’m informed she made three more so we won’t be seeing her again I think (two missed penalties, one incorrect one).
Btw sorry I’m in a Paris hotel and I can’t get the computer to work! I don’t think I can type up the appointments but you can find them on Àrbitro Internacional if you are interested.
    Best wishes
