French Champions Olympique Lyonnais dominated the opening 2014 Valais Women’s Cup match which saw them defeat RSC Anderlecht 7-1.
The game took place this afternoon in front of 520 spectators at the Stade du Christ-Roi.
Lyon broke the deadlock through Elodie Thomis but in the 27th minute, the captain of RSC Anderlecht, Pauline Crammer scored the equaliser.
However, Lyon dominated the contest and the goals started to fly in. Hegerberg (who scored her first goal for Lyon), Majri, Le Sommer, Petit, Schelin, and Dickenmann joined Thomis on the scoresheet.
The win puts Lyon through to the Valais Women’s Cup final where they will meet the winner of Barcelona v PSG. RSC Anderlecht will play the 3rd place play-off match.
