I think I saw Izzy mention this on Twitter (and I thought it was a very good point). Is it the people judging this competition that needs to change? How many of them actually follow the game around the world as intensely as we do on Women’s Soccer United for example. Is Marta’s name appearing purely due to reputation or by merit? I have a lot of admiration for Marta for what she has achieved in the women’s game both on and off the field, and the nomination is not her decision.
