Nadeshiko Japan goalkeeper Ayumi Kaihori announces retirement
World Cup winning goalkeeper Ayumi Kaihori has announced her retirement through her club INAC Kobe Leonessa on their official website.
The Japanese goalkeeper comments on her club’s website: “I am not able to perform physically as well as I used to, and have become unable to beat my biggest rival in myself on a daily basis,” – Read Ayumi Kaihori’s full statement (Japanese).
Kaihori is the second Japanese international at INAC Kobe Leonessa to retire, her team-mate Homare Sawa announced her retirement last month.
