The match is played at Reims who was the first great Fench team for men in the 50’s and for women ‘as Lyon today) in the 60’s. the kick-out was given by a former player of Stade de Reims, victim today of a rare and serious illness. She did it sitting in a wheeled chair. She was 3 times champion with Reims, then played for Lazio Roma and OM.

I’ve already got my ticket(s) reserved.  I don’t think they’ve printed any yet.  I have to pick them up on the day.

At first, I was disappointed in the choice of venue (it’s small but it’s close to England’s FA Academy) but then I thought it would actually be preferable because of the intimacy.  There was no chance of getting close to the players at any of the venues during the Olympics. I explained to the girl in Burton’s ticket office I wanted Row A and as close to the ‘Away’ dugout as possible. She made a note on my reservation to get me as close as she could.  The downside to this is a lot of seats have been block booked by the FA and these will inevitably be filled with uninterested screaming kids.  And I could be right next to them.

It’s strange for most people I have talked to here because I keep on referring to England as ‘England’ and Japan as ‘we’.  They’ll get used to it eventually.

Hi, I have just found the venue of England vs. Japan is not given in this page. The game will take place at

    Pirelli Stadium, Burton

    Kick off 13:45 BST

The information is here. Find “Next Fixture” in the page.

@Dennis, how convenient this location is for you? No chance to go both Wimbledon and Pirelli Stadium?
