NWSL 2014 match previews on Women's Soccer United

Can the perfect start to the 2014 National Women’s Soccer League season continue for Seattle Reign when they travel to play Washington Spirit on Saturday?

Seattle are the only team to have won all of their opening 2014 NWSL matches, the current league leaders are five points ahead of second place Portland, although the Thorns do have a game in hand.

Seattle Reign FC and Washington Spirit meet each other for the second time in less than two weeks. In the first meeting, Seattle Reign FC earned a 3-1 win over Washington Spirit.

Seattle Reign have got the 2014 NWSL season off to a perfect start, earning their fourth consecutive victory on Wednesday when they beat Sky Blue FC 2-0. Washington Spirit head into this match on the back of a 1-0 win against Chicago Red Stars courtesy of a Victoria Huster goal.

Sky Blue head into this fixture following Wednesday’s 2-0 home defeat to Seattle Reign FC. This was Sky Blue’s second loss in a row and makes it their fourth consecutive game to start the season without a win.

Western New York Flash play hosts to Portland Thorns FC on Saturday with the Thorns looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season.

WNY Flash had a bye in Week 3 but were defeated 1-0 by Chicago Red Stars before that. Abby Wambach is rumoured to make her 2014 NWSL debut after recovering from an injury. However, Carli Lloyd will miss the match as she serves her two-game suspension.
