Netherlands squad announced for La Manga training camp and International friendly matches against Spain and England
Netherlands women’s national team head coach Sarina Wiegman has called up 24-players to participate in a training camp in La Manga.
The European Champions will be in La Manga from 15 to 24 January and will play an official international friendly match against Spain on Saturday 20 January 2018 at 19:00.
On Tuesday 23 January, it is reported that the Netherlands will play England in a training match.
The last time that the Netherlands and Spain have faced each other was on 30 October 2008 in the playoffs of the UEFA Women’s European Championship qualification. Netherlands won the encounter 2-0 to book the Dutch women’s national team into the European Championships for the first time!
In 2017, the Netherlands won the UEFA Women’s Euro to be crowned the new European Champions. Spain were defeated in the quarter-final stage by Austria on penalties.
