Nominees for UEFA Best Women’s Player 2014/15 are Amandine Henry, Dzsenifer Marozsán and Célia Šašić
Amandine Henry, Dzsenifer Marozsán and Célia Šašić have been revealed as the final three nominees for the UEFA Best Women’s Player in Europe 2014/15 Award.
Amandine Henry is a French international and Olympique Lyonnais midfielder who was recently awarded with the Silver Ball at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015 in Canada. At club level, last season she lifted her eighth successive title with Lyon!
Dzsenifer Marozsán enjoyed success winning her first UEFA Women’s Champions League title with her club 1.FFC Frankfurt. The skillful midfielder was a key player in Germany’s World Cup campaign who progressed to the semi-finals.
Recently retired Célia Šašić was a standout forward for club (1.FFC Frankfurt) and country (Germany), she won the UEFA Women’s Champions League and was awarded the Golden Boot at this summer’s FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The final vote will be on Thursday 27 August and will be conducted by a panel of 18 journalists who will cast their votes.
The original shortlist for the 2014/15 UEFA Best Women’s Player in Europe Award was selected by coaches of the 2014/15 UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finalists and eight European FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers, the journalistic panel have whittled that number down to three in a first round of voting.
