November Monthly awards nominees announced.
Arsenal Women’s manager Joe Montemurro has been nominated for the November Barclays FA Women’s Super League manager of the month after he guided to his side to an unbeaten month after beating North London Rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.
Montemurro will be up against Nick Cushing of Manchester City, Willie Kirk of Everton and Chelsea boss Emma Hayes for the award.
Gunners duo Vivianne Miedema and Manuela Zinsberger have been nominated for the Players Award after a series of outstanding performances with the Dutch forward meeting twice in the consecutive League meetings whereas Zinsberger kept two clean-sheets and made several vital saves.
Zinsberger has been an ever present figure in the League during her first season at Meadow Park and is already a big hit with the fans and she won her side a crucial three points in that win over Liverpool after she made a world class save to keep out Courtney Sweetman-Kirk in the opening minutes tipping her header onto the post.
Millie Bright of Chelsea, Everton’s Lucy Graham and Manchester City’s Belgian midfielder Tessa Wullaert are also nominated.
Voting for the award closes on Friday 6th December on the Barclays WSL website and Twitter Page.
There has also been more achievements for Arsenal and England duo Leah Williamson and Beth Mead have been named in the top 100 players in the World as the countdown to Christmas begins. Williamson came in at number 94 after helping the Gunners win their first title in Seven Years and at 22 years old she will only continue to rise as for Mead she was ranked in 78th after she broke the WSL assist record and scored against Brazil and Japan in the SheBelieves Cup as England went on to win the trophy.
As the first 29 players were announced four Lionesses made the cut in the form of Williamson,Mead ,Rachel Daly and Beth England as the Women’s game in England continues to grow from strength to strength.
