NWSL Announces 2017 Season Home Openers
North Carolina Courage to host Portland Thorns FC on Saturday, April 22 in its inaugural home match at WakeMed Soccer Park.
The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced today the schedule of home openers for the 2017 regular season. The NWSL will play a 24-game schedule and compete in a single table, with the teams each playing 12 home and 12 away regular-season games.
The Courage will start their inaugural campaign on the road on Saturday, April 15 against the Washington Spirit in a 2016 Championship rematch. They will then host U.S. International Tobin Heath, Canadian International Christine Sinclair and the Portland Thorns at WakeMed Soccer Park on Saturday, April 22.
Preseason training camps will begin on Monday, March 13 while the regular season will kick off the weekend of April 15-16.
Additional information for these games will be revealed when the complete 2017 regular season schedule is announced.
