National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Announces Semi-final Dates

The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) has announced the dates and times for the semifinal matches of the 2016 NWSL Playoffs. Both matches will be broadcast live on FS1.

U.S. Women’s National Team forward and 2015 Golden Boot Winner Crystal Dunn leads the Washington Spirit into the first match-up of the playoffs against one of three possible opponents on Friday, September 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, Md.

The second semifinal match kicks off on Sunday, October 2 at 5:00 p.m. ET with Canada International Christine Sinclair and the Portland Thorns FC taking on one of three possible opponents at Providence Park in Portland, Ore.

The Chicago Red Stars clinched their spot in the semi-finals with a nil-nil draw against FC Kansas City on Sunday.

The race for the fourth and final spot heats up as the Western New York Flash and Seattle Reign FC are in position to book their playoff tickets. The Flash face off against the Boston Breakers on Saturday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. ET at Jordan Field in Boston.

The Reign will face the Houston Dash in a match broadcast live on FS1 Sunday, September 25 at 9:30 p.m. ET at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston. To see all of the possible playoff scenarios, view the NWSL Playoff Picture.

The 2016 NWSL Championship on Sunday, October 9 at 5:00 p.m. ET at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston will also be broadcast live on FS1.
