patrice liar

Olympique Lyonnais Women’s coach Patrice Lair will be leaving the club on 30th June 2014

Patrice Lair has spent 4 years at the Lyon making it one of the top Women’s clubs in Europe if not the world. During his time at the club he has guided the team to 7 major titles. 3 French Championships, 2 French Cups and 2 Champions Leagues. His style of play has been admired through out the Women’s Game Worldwide.

Where next for Patrice ?

I think possible another club side maybe outside Europe or more than likely a move into becoming a National Team Manager ?

it seems many people are noticing that he could be up for the USWNT post. it’s just too coincidental!

Yeah, it seems very coincidental. I can not think of any other role for him – France WNT have only recently changed their manager so he can not be heading there, I doubt he would go to another French women’s club and I can not think of any other domestic European club that would attract him away from Lyon.

Patrice announcing he is leaving Lyon in the summer, could this be just a coincidence? I think Lair would love the challenge of the USWNT, and if the US Soccer want someone who is not laid back then Patrice is a good candidate. Not sure whether the language barrier will become an issue?

Gustavsson has said he is 100% focused on the Champions League but is honoured to be connected to the USWNT role.

Tony Gustavssons coaching gig expires with Tyresö soon, and he has been linked by Julie Foudy as a potential candidate for the USWNT post. Now I’m reading this, perhaps Patrice want to spread his wings?
