Seattle Reign FC Forward Megan Rapinoe Out Five Weeks
Seattle Reign FC has announced that forward Megan Rapinoe underwent arthroscopic surgery on her left knee this week at the University of Washington Medical Center. The forward is expected to be out five weeks for recovery.
“Megan first reported knee soreness after the U.S. Women’s National Team match against Japan on August 3rd,” said Reign FC director of high performance Nick Leman. “After investigation and consultation, it was determined that arthroscopic surgery was the best course of action.”
The forward has appeared in 15 matches for Reign FC this season, starting all 15 and totaling 1,330 minutes. Rapinoe currently leads the league in goals scored with 12 and has also tallied one assist this season. Her play earned her Player of the Week honors in Weeks 11 and 14, and she was named the Player of the Month for July.
Reign FC return to Memorial Stadium on August 13th when they face the North Carolina Courage. Single match tickets and VIP experience packages are available. To purchase tickets, visit reignfc.com/tickets or call the Reign FC ticket office at (855) REIGN-FC.
