FIFA appoint referees for Rio 2016 Olympic women’s football Matchday 3
Ri Hyang-Ok to take charge of Germany v Canada
FIFA have decided the referees for Matchday Three at Rio 2016. Honestly it is hard to decide the best appointments due to the competition format, so one could say all the designations are important ones.
Anyhow for certain the biggest surprise is that we’ll see Olga Miranda again, and in a big match, China – Sweden. The other Group E match, between the host nation and South Africa will be led by Stephanie Frappart from France.
In Group F, FIFA has showed it’s continued support for Ri Hyang-Ok as she will take charge of Germany – Canada. Quite the opposite for Esther Staubli as the Champions League Final referee will probably have the least important match, Australia – Zimbabwe, it seems Massimo Busacca doesn’t appriciate the talents of his fellow Swiss.
In Group G, Lucila Venegas has got the call to referee New Zealand – France, if she impresses again we will probably see her again. Teodora Albon follows Damkova, Mitsi and Frappart in refereeing Colombia – United States at a major championship to complete the appointments.
