Match report: Danes start with a win.
Denmark kicked off their Euro 2017 campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over tournament debutants Belgium.
It only took 6 minutes for the opening goal and what proved to be the only goal to arrive in Doetinchem as Sanne Troelsgaard reacted well to head home after Wolfsburg’s Pernille Harder’s free-kick was pushed onto the crossbar by Belguim keeper Justein Oduers.

Denmark were playing some fine football and would have doubled their lead as Belgium defender Jacques was on hand twice to deny Nadim as she broke forward into the danger area.
Line Jensen should have doubled the lead for the Danes but her arrowed shot flew over the top from 25 yards out just before the break.
After the break Belgium came out with a new lease of life about them as Janice Cayman flicked Maud Cotereel’s header into the grateful clutches of Danish keeper Stina Peterson, Peterson was called into action once again as she stopped a fizzing low shot from Tessa Wullaert.
Belgium came closest to scoring just before the full-time whistle as Danish defender Simone Boye deflected Wullaerts free-kick onto her own crossbar with a header. But the Danish managed to hang on to take all three points in their opening Group A match.
