Seattle Reign FC have announced that the club has loaned midfielder Keelin Winters to the Western Sydney Wanderers FC, defender Kendall Fletcher to Canberra United FC, goalkeeper Haley Kopmeyer to Apollon Limassol Ladies FC and defender Kate Deines to Turbine Potsdam in the German Frauen Bundesliga.
Winters, who has captained Seattle’s squad for the past two seasons, played in 23 matches during the 2014 NWSL regular season, starting 22 and logging three goals in 1963 minutes. The 25-year-old midfielder was acquired by Reign FC from the Chicago Red Stars during the inaugural season of the NWSL in 2013.
Fletcher, 29, who joined Reign FC as a free agent in February 2014, was a NWSL Best XI selection this past season. The defender appeared in 23 regular season matches – 22 of which were starts – and tallied two goals and an assist in 1917 minutes of regular season play. She also won Seattle’s 2014 team award for Defender of the Year.
Kopmeyer, 24, appeared in four matches (all starts) during the 2014 NWSL regular season and finished the season with two clean sheets and a league-best GAA of 0.500. The keeper – who re-signed with Seattle in February – made her season debut on June 19 against the Boston Breakers, posting a shutout victory.
Deines, 24, signed with Reign FC as a free agent in February 2013. The defender logged 859 minutes and was featured in 18 matches (9 starts) for Seattle during the club’s 2014 regular season campaign. Prior to joining Reign FC, the University of Washington alumna played for Stjarnan Women in Iceland’s top division and won the 2013 Icelandic Women’s Cup.
Winters, Fletcher, Kopmeyer and Deines will all return to Seattle prior to the start of the 2015 NWSL season.
