Seattle Reign FC Continues Pre-Season Tournament With Match-Up Against Houston Dash

Seattle Reign FC is set to face the Houston Dash on Wednesday, March 30 at 5 p.m. PDT at Providence Park in Portland, Ore. as part of a three-match preseason tournament.

This is Reign FC’s second match of the tournament, after they took down Portland Thorns FC 2-0 on Sunday, March 27. Seattle will close out the tournament on Saturday, April 2 against Oregon State University in a 2 p.m. PDT match at Providence Park.

Elsewhere in the tournament, OSU was thwarted 3-0 by the Dash on Sunday, and will face Thorns FC this Wednesday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. PDT. The Houston Dash and Thorns will close out the tournament with a match on Saturday, April 2 at 5:00 p.m. PDT.

Seattle finished the 2015 season with two wins in two games against the Dash. On August 12, 2015, Seattle beat Houston 2-1 at Memorial Stadium on goals from Merritt Mathias and Rachel Corsie. Reign FC closed out the sweep of the season series on August 21, 2015 at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, where Kim Little notched a hat trick for a 3-0 Reign FC victory.

The Dash closed the 2015 season in fifth place in the National Women’s Soccer League with a 6-8-6 record, tallying 24 goals over the campaign. US Women’s National Team forward Carli Lloyd led the club with 56 shots in only 12 games, as she missed a large portion of the season as a result of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.

After finishing the Portland tournament on April 2, Reign FC will head back home for its annual Community Shield Match against University of Washington at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, April 9 at 7 p.m. PDT. Tickets for the match are sold out.

Reign FC will start their fourth NWSL season on Sunday, April 17 at 4 p.m. PDT with a home-opening match against Sky Blue FC at Memorial Stadium. Ticket prices start at $18 and are available at
