Shelbourne landed the FAI Umbro U16 Women’s cup with a dogged display in Jackson Park this afternoon.
Shels took the lead after 15 minutes, when Emma Chamberlain turned Lauryn O’Callaghan and curled the ball into the far corner of the net.
Peamount were back on level terms after just 10 minutes, in an action packed opening first half. Amy McCormack, racing onto her own flick-on, drilled the ball beneath Shels’ keeper Nadine Ryan.
Shels edged a tightly contested second half, taking the lead 11 minutes before the end when Courtney Higgins curled a free kick in from the touchline.
Shels wrapped up the victory in the final minute of normal time when Sophie Waters headed home from a corner in a crowded Peamount penalty area.
