The South African women’s national football team, Banyana Banyana have qualified for the ninth Edition of the African Women’s Championship following the withdrawal of Comoros on Tuesday.
South Africa beat Comoros 13-0 in the first leg of the qualifier. Banyana Banyana captain Janine Van Wyk talks about the team’s challenging trip in her WSU blog.
The 2014 African Women’s Championship will be held in Namibia from October 11-25.
South Africa head coach Vera Pauw says they are already looking for a match to play for that weekend (when they were due to meet Comoros) in order to keep the girls active.
