South African Senior Women’s National Team (Banyana Banyana ) are focus on endurance and strength that will stand them in good stead for the 12-nation Cyprus Women’s Cup tournament that will be played from 28th February to 6th March 2012.

Banyana Banyana won the first match of their South American tour with a 1 – 0 win over Brazilian club side Cepe Caxias.Banyana Banyana captain Amanda Dlamini scored the only goal of the match in the 77th minute.

“A lot of effort has been put in to ensuring we prepare thoroughly for the Olympics 2012 in London, as players and the entire team we need to be grateful to SAFA and Sasol our sponsor for arranging these training camps (Stellenbosch and the South American tour) as a prelude to the tournament in Cyprus. With so much work going on here (in Brazil) we should be physically fit for the Cyprus outing and we will be able to gauge our progress after that tournament,” added Hlumbane.

@Ken I don’t know what the answer to that is. I have just added another paragraph above with some additional information that Heath, Rapinoe, Harris and Press will not attend the training camp but will still be available for selection so the same could have been done for Beverly if she had conflicting commitments with INAC? Could it be that he has not seen Beverly’s performances in the Nadeshiko League.
