Stephan Lerch replaces Ralf Kellermann as VfL Wolfsburg head coach

VFL Wolfsburg has announced Stephan Lerch as the new head coach, replacing Ralf Kellermann will remain as Sporting Director.

Ralf Kellermann has handed over the position of head-coach of VfL Wolfsburg to the current assistant-coach Stephan Lerch. Kellermann will switch his focus exclusively to the function of Sporting Director, with the goal to further professionalise women’s football at VfL Wolfsburg.

As from the beginning of the German Allianz Frauen-Bundesliga new season, Stephan Lerch will take over as head-coach and will be completely responsibility for the team.

Ralf Kellermann has had a successful time as VfL Wolfsburg head coach, he was crowned FIFA World Women’s Coach of the Year in 2014, and guided the Wolfsburg to amazing achievements over the past ten years including winning the UEFA Women’s Champions League and Bundesliga titles in 2013 and 2014, as well as winning three German DFB-Cup victories (2013, 2015 and 2016).
