Sweden host Germany in an international women’s football friendly on Wednesday 29 October at 18:00 local time.

There are currently 5,500 tickets sold for this exciting contest which will be played at the Behrn Arena. The match will also be broadcast live on TV12.

Goalkeeper Hedvig Lindahl is not included in the squad as she has hip surgery and is not expected back in the squad until spring.

Sweden are looking to face tough opposition as they prepare for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2015. Germany defeated Sweden 1-0 in the UEFA Women’s European Cup 2013 semi-final and Sweden are looking for revenge.

Therese Sjögran is set to earn her 200th international cap, and if Lotta Schelin scores she will achieve the national team record of 73 goals. Schelin currently shares the record with Hanna Ljungberg (72 goals).

    Lol, yet again. The Bane of our existence, the Thorn in our side, Germany. Sweden has now failed to win against Germany since 1991. That’s a record for you 🙁

      That is some record! :/
      I can’t wait to see how England get on against Germany next month. I think it will (hopefully) show how much the team has progressed.
