Switzerland Women’s National Team have been invited to compete at the 2015 edition of the Algarve Cup.
The Algarve Cup has been played every year since 1994, usually at the beginning of March, in Portugal.
It is one of the most exciting tournaments on the women’s football calender and attracts some of top high ranked national teams.
The Swiss Football Association reports that Switzerland will compete in the Algarve Cup against USA, Germany, Japan, France, Sweden, Brazil, Portugal, Norway, Denmark, China and Iceland.
Over the past few years, Switzerland have been competing in the Cyprus Cup which takes place on the same dates as the Algarve Cup. Swiss WNT head coach, Martina Voss-Tecklenburg has decided to take her squad to Portugal next March to prepare themselves for the World Cup 2015
