Tom Sermanni’s first game as the USWNT head coach will be against his native country Scotland on 9th February 2013 in Jacksonville, Fla.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 5pm ET, details of broadcast information will be released at a later date.

Sermanni will be playing against his native country Scotland, to mark his official game as the new US head coach!

Tom Sermanni told the USSoccer website: “It’s great to have the first game set and it’s even more exciting that my first opponent as the U.S. coach is against the country of my birth, (Scotland coach) Anna (Signeul) has done a terrific job with the program and they have made great strides over the past four or five years. They are now a very competitive team in women’s international football. The first match is going to be something very new, but I’m really looking forward to getting started with this team.”

These two sides have only met once before in an official match. In September 2002, Scotland suffered a 8-2 defeat against the USWNT in Columbus, Ohio.

@Josh – the previous Four Nations Tournament took place in January 2011, and this USA match (which is scheduled for February) is listed as their first game for 2013. We have not heard anything official either yet though.
