Tuija Hyyrynen can’t wait to get going again in 2020-21
Tuija Hyyrynen is one of the biggest names in Women’s football, a title winner with HJK Helsinki, a three times Finish cup champion and a three times Italian scudetto champion as she’s spent three years with one of the world’s biggest clubs Juventus.
She has also lifted one Coppa Italia and one Italian Suppercoppa during her time in Turin.
She is one of the best one v one defenders in Serie A and her passing is of the highest quality.
Hyyrynen has also extended her contract in Turin by a further year until 2021 as she enters her fourth season in Black and White.
She praises her sister for getting her into football as she said “I have an older sister, she’s two years older than me and I just wanted to do what she was doing”.
“We just always played football, as a child I was shy but I really enjoyed kicking a football and that’s how I got into playing the game”.
The defender has very fond memories in Turin as she reflected on winning the Scudetto for the third time in 2019-20 on a points-per-game basis as the season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“It feels amazing, its been an amazing road to achieve what we have achieved, we’re getting better and better as a team every season”.
