UAE retained the WAFF women championship title after winning against Iran 6-5 by penalty shootout after drawing 2-2 in the original and extra time on Wednesday at the final.
Oumayma Maaouia (46) and Dalila Zerrouki (84) scored for UAE, while Fatemeh Arzhangi (38) and Maryam Rahimi (53) scored for Iran.
In the penalty shootout, Sara Hasanain, Imen Trodi, Ouafae Nacha, Dalila Zerrouki, Jamila Marek, Hakima Boucetta scored the successful attempts for UAE.
Bahrain win the third place
Abu Dhabi – Bahrain finished in the third place at 4th WAFF women championship after winning against Jordan 4-3 by a penalty shootout after drawing 0-0 in full time on Wednesday.
In the penalty shootout Yasmeen Tobellah, Alyaa Almudhahki, Reem Alhashmi, Noora Khamis scored the successful attempts for Bahrain, while Stephanie Alnaber, Sama’a Khraisat, Yasmeen Khair scored for Jordan.
