USA will take on Australia Matildas for the second time in the US Fan Tribute Tour on Wednesday 19th September 2012 at 10 pm ET.
These two teams met on Sunday 16th September, in what was an excitingly close game. Australia fielded a very young team including 17 year old goalkeeper Brianna Davey who earned her second international cap.
The Matildas went 1-0 up after a great run and finish from Lisa De Vanna, but it was the determined Alex Morgan who got the equaliser for USA, in her 50th international appearance. In the 63rd minute Boxx converted a penalty to give the gold medallists the winning goal.
The match against Australia on Wednesday, will be the final match in charge of the U.S. Women’s National Team for head coach Pia Sundhage.
