World Champions Come to Chattanooga for Second Match of Victory Tour

USA vs. Costa Rica – U.S. Women’s National Team Victory Tour – Finley Stadium; Chattanooga, Tenn. Aug. 19, 2015

Following its historic run to the championship of the 2015 Women’s World Cup in Canada, the U.S. Women’s National Team has embarked on a 10-game Victory Tour across the country.

The Victory Tour will serve the dual purpose of celebrating the USA’s third Women’s World Cup title with the fans, while also preparing the team for the 2016 CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament that will take place in early February of next year.

The USA opened the Victory Tour on Aug. 16 against fellow Women’s World Cup participant Costa Rica at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh and rolled to an 8-0 victory in front of 44,028 fans, which set a record for a stand-alone domestic friendly for the U.S. WNT.

World Cup Champions USA continued its Victory Tour with a 7 – 2 win against Costa Rica in front of a record crowd of 20,535 at Finley Stadium. The crowd was the largest for a stand-alone WNT friendly in the south eastern region of the United States.
