USWNT away jersey 2014
U.S. Soccer and Nike unveiled the new Men’s and Women’s National Team away kit, a striking red, white and blue design that will first be worn by the MNT against Mexico on April 2 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

The jersey has a modern crew-neck collar and consists of three bands representing the colors of the American flag. The base color of the jersey and the cuff of the sleeves feature a prominent red. The upper torso and top sleeves include a bold blue tone, and a white chest band extends over the middle of both sleeves.

The back of the jersey features a unique and specially designed font for the names and numbers, which is modern and angular. Each number on the back of the jersey also houses a small U.S. Soccer crest at the bottom. Additionally, there is a pennant tab inside the back of the neck featuring 13 red and white stripes to represent the original 13 colonies.

Simple and iconic, the new away shorts and socks are red. The shorts are slim and tailored to the body, with a cut specifically designed to aid movement and comfort. The center back of the shorts feature Nike’s signature laser vents to aid in cooling and allow for moisture management.

“The new kit fits really well, looks great and keeps you comfortable, but my favorite part is that it is sustainably designed using recycled Dri-FIT polyester,” said U.S. Women’s National Team striker Sydney Leroux.

You’re right, it does look better with the red shorts and socks, I have found a photo of Sydney Leroux in the full kit and have added it above.

Agree with you about the prices and the amount of new designs they keep bringing out. Not sure whether the cost of these jerseys in USA are reasonable, but in England they recently brought out another England shirt which is basically plain white and they are charging £90!! Usually the cost is around £40 -45

Its okay…but someone posted a self-made variation where the red bottom was instead red and white stripes and it looked much better. Its better than the new Home white polo looking jersey though.

Actually I just saw a picture of Clint Dempsey wearing it, and it incorporates red shorts and red socks, and it looks ten times better that way. as the red goes all the way down.

Personally I don’t like it at all. The color blue for one seems to light to represent the colors associated with the flag and older implementations. Hey, It might look better on the players in real life situations, but speaking spontaneously, it doesn’t fare all that well according to me.

But hey, the shirt sponsor companies will have new renvenues….hurray, and you get a lot less money to worry about. 😀

Seriously, they are changing the shirts way to often, and every year they are more and more expensive…. Since I bought mine (Swedens Umbro, with customazation), the price has gone up with about 40% for these past 6 years for this new Adidas shirt…ridiculous. In the same time-span, the average Swedes income has increase with about 6% or so…
