Valais Women’s Cup 2015 starts tomorrow and will be broadcast live on Eurosport!
We are just one day away from the start of the 2015 edition of the Valais Women’s Cup which sees Paris Saint-Germain, Olympique Lyonnais, Bayern Munich and FC Zurich compete in in Martigny.
On the eve of matchday, a press conference took place at the summit of La Foilleuse in Morgins with representatives from the competing teams of PSG, Bayern Munich and Lyon.
Paris Saint-Germain – Valais Women’s Cup 2014 finalists
PSG head coach, Farid Benstiti: “I must say it is something exceptional enough. This is perfect, everything comes together: the mountain, sun and excitement of high-level matches.”
Caroline Seger: “This is my second time here, the environment is really amazing and I am delighted to start the tournament. I have very good memories of the final of last year despite the defeat against Lyon.”
Bayern Munich – Will make Valais Women’s Cup debut in 2015
Bayern Munich head coach, Thomas Wörle: “This is our first time here, we are very happy and we thank the people of the region for the reception and the organizers. We also welcome Friday’s game against PSG who played the final of the Champions League last year, so this will be a big test.”
Melanie Behringer, captain: “It’s obviously very interesting for us to be able to compete with a team like PSG, this will allow us to position ourselves against the top European level. Then if we face Zurich it will be interesting because there are several German players.”
Olympique Lyonnais – the Valais Women’s Cup title holder
Lyon head coach, Gérard Preacher: “The training is going very well, the training conditions are excellent, it’s nice, the view is superb. And finish the course by two very interesting matches, that’s what I call a very good training camp.”
Lucie Pingeon: “We were very well received, like last year. Personally this is my second time here in training and it’s pretty great to train and play in such a context. It’s also a good way to find automation with the team. ”
Olympique Lyonnais and FC Zurich kick off the 2015 Valais Women’s Cup action on Friday 14 August at 16:00 (local time), live on Eurosport.
