    Turbine-Arsenal games.

2012 has been a great year in women’s football and I believe that 2013 will be more better.

Well, 2012 was a great year for the Women’s game, and the year I decided (after the Olympics) to be more than just an occasional big game watcher.

Lot’s of highlights for me…small ones, the two Turbine-Arsenal games (first for the Yuki screamer in London, secondly for the mayhem of the second half in Potsdam), Germany and Marozsan taking it to the USA in October in two really high quality friendlies, Seeing Lisa Evans make such a positive impact in the Bundesliga, seeing the England/GB team finally wake up those dunderheads on the island to the fact they have great players, the U20 World Cup with all those emerging players, The UEFA Champions League final in Munich (50,000+)!!!

But for all those great moments the Olympic Tournament was mint…way more entertaining than the Euros in June. And top of all of that, indeed the best football match I think i have seen since the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul was the Semi-Final in Old Trafford between the USA and Canada. For Sinclair’s masterpiece Hattrick, for the American swaggering fight (and Rapinoe’s screamer) and the Morgan winner. (only slight downer was that the stadium deserved to be FULL for that one).

I am hoping the game kicks on in 2013, we have the Euros but more than that i want to see the European Club Teams getting more coverage and respect and recognition for their talent. (Oh, and a Potsdam title might be nice too)
