I am aware that we have discussed this issue here at WSU before. But now it seems to start to move on the issue. According to the latest news, it’s Jill Ellis will take Pia Sundhages role until a decision is taken by the union. This means that she will lead USWNT in the matches against Germany later this month (October). Sunil Gulati of the U.S. Soccer also says that there are 25 to 30 applications for the position of coach. It is both U.S. and foreign applications. He also says that there are 10 regions that want to be in the new league. It will take a more active role by the U.S. Soccer side in the new league. It has previously been private. But now it is said that national team players should be employed for the most part of the US soccer Association. A discussion should be with the national team that will play in the league for what they think.

It is hoped that a decision of  the coach role will be taken by the end of this month (October)

Yes, it did seem like there was a foul, but some of these Japanese players are so small that refs will probably find it hard calling a shove like that against them.  It was a savvy move though, to create space for her.

Thank you for this update. It will be great to get an official announcement of the new appointment before the games against Germany… Although what a tough test to start your career on.
I am pleased to hear that talk of a new US pro league is progressing, and I think it will be a great that US Soccer will take a more active role. It is important for the national team that their players get regular competitive league football to play.
