FC Kansas City lost for the first time in the 2014 National Women’s Soccer League season last night to the Washington Spirit. Amy Rodriguez scored in her second straight match for Kansas City, but it wasn’t enough as Diana Matheson scored two goals for the Spirit on the 4th and 38th minute, and Christine Nairn scored in the 45th minute to give her team a 3 – 1 win.


Chicago Red Stars 1 – 0 Western New York Flash

Chicago Red Stars kicked off their 2014 National Women’s Soccer League season with a 1-0 win over Western New York Flash at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Illinois. The only goal of the game came in the 59th minute from Red Stars defender Julie Johnston from a corner kick.


Sky Blue FC 1 – 1 Portland Thorns FC

Allie Long 75′ (Portland Thorns FC)

A goal from Christie Rampone in the 26th minute put the home side 1 up, Allie Long scored in the second half converting a penalty to help Portland Thorns FC earn a point against Sky Blue FC at Yurcak Field on Saturday evening in front of 2,983 fans


Boston Breakers 2 – 3 Houston Dash

Houston Dash beat the Boston Breakers 3 – 2 to earn their first win in club history on Sunday evening in front of 2,018 fans at Harvard Stadium in Allston, Mass.
