WNY Flash Sign South Korean Midfielder Jeon Ga Eul.

Western New York Flash has announced the signing of South Korean midfielder Jeon Ga Eul – a historical signing for both the Flash and the National Women’s Soccer League, as she becomes the first South Korean born player in the NWSL

The contract is pending the receipt of her P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Per team and league policy, terms of the contract were not announced.

General Manager Rich Randall said on the club’s official website: “Jeon should make an immediate impact with our club, while also providing leadership on the field. Her ability to get the ball to her teammates’ feet is impressive, Her discipline and on-field vision will be a key piece to our success this year. We are excited for her arrival this March.”

Jeon Ga Eul played a key role in the Korea Republic’s progression to the Round of 16 in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. In total, the midfielder has a accumulated 72 caps and 34 goals for her country so far.

Jeon Ga Eul joins the WNY Flash from Hyundai Steel Red Angels of the South Korean WK-League, the highest women’s football league in South Korea.
