VfL Wolfsburg appoint Ariane Hingst to their coaching team
Former German international Ariane Hingst has been appointed as the new co-trainer of VfL Wolfsburg.
The 36 year old has signed a contract with the German Allianz Frauen-Bundesliga club until 30 June 2017.
Ariane Hingst is two-time world champion (2003, 2007) and five times European champion ( 1997, 2001, 2005, 2009) and with 174 appearances Hingst is third place in the list of the DFB-record internationals. With Turbine Potsdam, Hingst was twice German champion (2004, 2006) and took the 2005 title in the UEFA Women’s Cup. She was also four times German Cup winner with Potsdam (2004, 2005, 2006) and then 1. FFC Frankfurt (2011).
Recently, Hingst worked as a DFB-base coach, during the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada and also worked as an expert for a US broadcaster.
