Thank you Ken, much appreciated!
Did you watch the match? Was it a good performance.
I watched it in TV. The game told everyone again the long-known fact. With all those stars, both old and new, the Nadeshiko Japan is still a Miyama and Company. Aya played in the first half and was substituted at half-time, The result is:
1st half: Japan 5 – 0 Ghana
2nd half: Japan 0 – 0 Ghana
It’s true that Takase who scored twice was also subbed-out at HT. But the team’s first two goals were products of Aya’s super quality passes aimed at and placed on the very precise locations. This opened the flood gate. In the second half Ghana’s defense was improved and even though Japan made more shots (15 in the 2nd half against 10 in the 1st) there was no one who could re-open the gate.
Thank you for your detailed analysis. That gives me a better understanding because when I saw the match go into half-time with Japan leading 5-0, I was expecting an even more devastating scoreline for Ghana in the second half.
