    [Week 1, Second Stage]

    Albirex Niigata 1 – 1 NTV Beleza
    Niigata: 14’ Kana Kitahara
    NTV: 45’ Mizuho Sakaguchi

    Urawa Reds 2 – 2 INAC Kobe

    Attendance: 2,210
    Shots: Urawa 10 – 8 Kobe
    Corners: Urawa 3 – 5 Kobe

A few seconds before the final whistle, the ball hit Natsuki Kishikawa’s left arm which was fully in touch with her body. The referee whistled. Penalty was awarded. Takase kicked in the equalizer.

I can guarantee that there is NO ONE who saw this scene without recalling the two hand balls ignored two weeks ago. That’s all I can say. Anything else to come out of me will be grudge and rancor.

Thank you for the Match updates Ken

    • Gina West 5 years ago

That’s unbelievable, four minutes into injury time a penalty awarded for handball, no wonder Urawa Reds fans will recall the incidents in the previous game! Such a shame.

      • Ken Suzuki 5 years ago

The video shows Kishikawa’s arm is straight down, practically pressed to her hip, when the ball hit. What a sharp contrast to what we saw two weeks ago!

We saw after the match Kishikawa was in tears and INAC players, including Takase, were grim. No one was happy. The only heart-warming scene was Clare Polkinghorne in hug with the coach after her last match in Japan. I guess the Australian league is about to begin?

        • Gina West 5 years ago

It is so frustrating! I don’t like to ‘moan’ about officials but responsibility has to be taken when decisions are impacting match results and ultimately a team’s fate in the league.

Yes, the new Australia W-League season kicks off on 13 September, I think.
