    Nadeshiko League August 10

    [Week 17]

    Vegalta Sendai 0 – 0 Urawa Reds
    Attendance: 1,422
    Shots: Sendai 7 – 6 Urawa
    Corners: Sendai 6 – 11 Urawa

Urawa Reds ended in 0-0 draw for 3 straight games….Excellent defense, troubled offense.

    Yunogo Belle 0 – 1 Albirex Niigata
    Niigata: 69’ Kana Kitahara
    Attendance: 1,143
    Shots: Yunogo 8 – 8 Niigata
    Corners: Yunogo 4 – 5 Niigata

    INAC Kobe 0 – 1 Elfen Saitama
    Saitama: 13’ Kanako Ito
    Attendance: 2,361
    Shots: Kobe 12 – 9 Saitama
    Corners: Kobe 10 – 7 Saitama

    #1 Urawa: Pts=35, W=10, D=5, L=2, GF=30, GA=10, GD=+20
    #2 NTV: Pts=34, W=10, D=4, L=3, GF=33, GA=11, GD=+22
    #3 Yunogo: Pts=33, W=10, D=3, L=4, GF=30, GA=25, GD+5
    #4 Niigata: Pts=32, W=10, D=2, L=5, GF=30, GA=17, GD=+13
    #5 Kobe: Pts=26, W=8, D=2, L=7, GF=32, GA=18, GD=+14
    #6 Sendai: Pts=25, W=7, D=4, L=6, GF=23, GA=15, GD=+8
    #7 Chiba: Pts=25, W=7, D=4, L=6, GF=25, GA=23, GD=+2
    #8 Saitama: Pts=16, W=5, D=1, L=11, GF=27, GA=44, GD=–17
    #9 Iga: Pts=13, W=3, D=4, L=10, GF=23, GA=29, GD=–6
    #10 Kibi: Pts=1, W=0, D=1, L=16, GF=11, GA=72, GD=–61

    In Week 18
Urawa vs. Kobe, NTV vs. Saitama, Yunogo vs. Kibi

Theoretically, Kobe still may end at the 7th position. But Sendai and Chiba play each other in the final week therefore it is impossible that both teams top Kobe in points. The only scenario Kobe ends at the 7th is that Sendai vs. Chiba ends in draw (both 26 points) and Kobe loses by more than 12 scores. (In this case, all three end with 26 points and their GDs are +1 for Kobe, +8 for Sendai, +2 for Chiba.)

So, INAC Kobe is safe. Naho & Bev will play in the upper league. And my (desperate) wish . . . . . LET URAWA REDS WIN !!!!!!!!!! (Please forgive my bias. . . .)

The 210 men and women who attended the Iga vs. Chiba game are true heroes. The location was under a full-scale raid by a gigantic typhoon.
